Brooke D'Sousa

       My name is Brooke D'Sousa. I am currently working towards an Associate of Science degree here at Salt Lake Community College. Once I've earned that, I plan to transfer to the University of Utah to finish a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing...possibly a minor in Entrepreneurship (yet to be fully determined). I am an older non-traditional student as eighteen years had passed between the time I graduated high school and when I took my first college course. Life kind of got in the way and slowed down my goals, and so my mantra has become the Confucius quote "It does not matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop."

       Since graduating high school all those years ago I've worked full-time in banking - credit cards to be specific. Until two years ago I had worked for the same company for fifteen years where I ended my employment as a Sr. Marketing Manager and opted instead for self-employment. I am currently a licensed real estate agent, and I love helping my clients realize their goals whether they be homeownership or investment related. I work hard to undo some of the negative perceptions the public has with my new profession, but I find that part rather easy because I truly love helping people. I have many hobbies ranging from reading and sewing to gardening and fishing. I joke that my hobby is collecting hobbies as I always have to have something to do...lots of irons in the fire so to speak. Aside from all of that, I am also a wife and the mother to three (19, 6, and 3 years old).
